@C1@c@b@_ Color Selection
To select a particular color from a colormap (if one exists) or by
choosing RGB separately.
@b RGB mode
In RGB mode, the three sliders representing the value of Red, Green
and Blue are shown and each slider is individually adjustable. The
resulting color is shown on the OK button on the right-hand side of
the panel. Some predefined colors, mostly from /usr/lib/X11/rgb.txt,
are available by selecting PreDefCol.
@b Colormap mode
In colormap mode, a panel containing all entries, each shown as a
little square, in the color map is presented 64 at a time and the map
can be scrolled forward or backward by pushing the mouse on the two
large arrows on the sides of the panel. A particular entry is selected
by clicking the mouse on the square having the desired color. Current
selection is marked by a small cross and is shown as the color of the
bottom most button labeled selected. The five small boxes on the
bottom of the panel show, respectively, the index (starting from 1)
into the colormap, the intensities of red, green, and blue and
luminosity (gray level).
@b Picking a Screen Pixel
In both RGB and colormap mode, leftmouse and rightmouse can be
used to select any pixel on screen as the current selected color
by clicking on the desired pixel while holding down the CNTRL key.
The pixel picking feature can be used to measure the intensity of a
particular pixel whose coordinates can be obtained by selecting
mouse position report from the Setup menu.
